Welcome to Sweet Luna, a happy creation brought to life back in 2005. Ever since I was a child I had a passion for being creative and making things. Often playing alone because we lived so far from town, I imagined a magical world where things like paper kites and tree-branch forts would come to life. Taking inspiration from the land of ‘Make-Believe’, I decided to make things so I could share my ideas and talents with others and to give back using my creativity. I started out designing pillows and other home accessories and then moving into handbags and jewelry. I launched Generi in January 2005 so I could sell my items craft and help others. I decided to give 15% of my profits to charity. The main charity is Samaritan’s Purse, an organization that gives worldwide to starving families with some special months being dedicated to other charities (November for Lung Cancer). My hope is to bring food, shelter and the gift of education to children who might not otherwise have a chance. Now in 2009, the creating and giving continue with the newly revamped business under the new name Sweet Luna.
Taking inspiration in everything I sees from nature, to interior design and even scrapbooking, I hope you will find Sweet Luna as a distinctive shop of unique accessories and vintage finds. All of the handmade goods are created by me in my home studio. Some items are made from designer fabrics that have been donated for the cause; other items are made from one-of-a-kind vintage fabrics. At Sweet Luna, beauty in these textiles is found and new life to them is given! Not only does it make for one-of-a-kinds good but also helps the Earth by reusing discarded textiles.
Thank you so much for visiting Sweet Luna; I hope you love all of the items you see! I am coming up with new, fun ideas all of the time so check back often. I also hope that you share my passion for giving back (paying forward)! There are so many people that have helped me throughout my life that I wanted a way to help someone too.
Every November (my birthday month), I will be sharing my charitable gifts to help fund Lung Cancer Research. I have become concerned by the amount of people dying from lung cancer. Most of the victims of this disease are not smokers and most are women. The sad thing is, that although much funding is donating to research for breast and cervical cancer, Lung Cancer Research received very little if any! I think most people assume that the people that get it, deserve it, but that’s not the case. We NEED to be concerned and we need to find out why there are so many people dying from it that don’t smoke. I care and that’s why I wanna to help.
Thank you for visiting my site!!
